FINCA LA CUADRA - The Cottage Formerly a Stable has been lovingly restored to provide comfortable and rustic accommodation with part Hot & Cold Air Conditioning & Fans and offers far-reaching views towards the local mountains and the Sierra Nevada beyond. The surrounding countryside is covered with tracks, making it an ideal spot for those who enjoy country walks.
The Cottage is in a rural spot, along an unmade country lane (dirt track) yet only 1 Kilometre away from the local By-pass, which takes you into Marbella in about 20 minutes and Malaga Airport in about 35 minutes.

The Cottage is a must for nature lovers. It is located in a beautiful part of the Andalucian countryside, which is covered with a large variety of wild flowers and herbs, including Lavender, Thyme and Sage and makes it a natural habitat for Partridge. It consists of 17.000 square metres (4 Acres)of rural land and the Cottage is in a fenced area of about 3.000 square metres(1 Acre approx), which contains some mature Olive trees and a variety of young fruit trees, e.g. Orange, lemons and avocados.
The water at the Cottage is the best mineral water in this area and drinkable.
It is pump-up from our sealed well, which has a borehole 500 feet deep below the earth and filtered naturally.

Booking Notes
50% deposit of the total rental is payable on booking (None Refundable)via Bank transfer
The balance is payable in Cash-Euros on arrival at the property.
A returnable security deposit of 200€ or 150GBP will also be taken on arrival.

We also accept Credit Cards as a method of deposit payment (usually cheaper than a Bank transfer)

Payment by Credit Card/PayPal is subject to a surcharge of 4.0%, which equates to the amount we are charged for accepting such payment.


Change over day
On a Saturday from June 2 – September 22
In other months, the change over days are flexible .
Arrivals are after 16.00 hrs & Departures before 10.00 hrs

Cleaning/Towels/Linen/Maid service
The property is cleaned for your arrival and after your departure.
All bed linen and towels are provided.
“Large Pool towels are also provided”.

Notes on Accommodation
The property is totally self-contained with own gates and parking area.
If you should need any help? Don’t worry the owners are not far away.

A free welcome pack for your arrival is supplied.
This consists of: Fresh Milk. Fresh Orange Juice, Water, Coffee, Tea bags, Sugar, Bread, Margarine, Jam or Marmalade, Cereal, Mixed Fruit, Beer, Lemonade, Jar of Olives, Bottle White Wine and a Bottle Red Wine.

Air Conditioned, Open-Plan and fitted with Rustic Units, Granite Worktop, Hob, Oven, Microwave, Fridge-Freezer, Washing Machine, Electric kettle, Tea pot, Coffee Maker and fully stocked with kitchen utensils, (more than you will ever need).

Outside
The Cottage has a covered Terrace with a Pergola and a Barbecue,
This is where you can spend some time reading, having a meal or simply enjoying the scenery with the fragance of Jasmin and Honeysuckle.
Sit under one of the many mature Olive trees providing a welcoming shade, 2 Sun Loungers, 2 Reclining Chairs, 2 Parasols, Table and 4 Chairs are provided.
All outside furniture is supplied with cushions.
And for those long hot summer days, your own “Private Swimming Pool" size 8m x 4m (depth from 1.2m to 1.6m with underwater lighting and ed all around. The pool area is fenced even so children should be supervised at all times.

The Orchard The Land is covered with a variety of young fruit trees e.g. Avocado, Apricot, Fig, Orange, Lemon etc. and when in season, the fruit may be picked by our guests.

The nearest towns are Coin and Ahaurin-El-Grande, which are about 5 and 10 minutes drive. Both Towns have lots of Supermarkets, Shops, Banks and also an Open-Air Market once a week.

This area is also well known for Mountain Walks, Cycling, or Horse Riding, with stables that cater for the beginner and the professional.

Golf
For the golfer there are many courses to choose from.
The local ones are Alhauring golf which was designed by Severiano Ballesteros and is 15 minutes by car and Lauro golf which is about 20 minutes.
La Cala Golf The two golf courses at La Cala are the main attraction of the resort. Both, La Cala North (Par 73) and La Cala South (Par 72) have been designed by North American architect Cabell B. Robinson. La Cala Resort is an exclusive residential and recreational complex of approximately 1,000 acres situated between the 'Sierra de Mijas' National Park and the Mediterranean.

Skiing
The Sierra Nevada is a 2.1/2 hours drive where it is possible to ski and snowboard.

ARDALES NATURAL PARK & EL CHORRO GORGE
A 35-minutes drive from the Cottage
Imagine three stunningly beautiful turquoise coloured lakes bordered by pine forests. A tranquil retreat where you can swim or fish, or picnic on the lakeshore. Hardly sounds like a typical Andalucian scene, does it! But west of Alora that is what you will find. Malaga's "Lake District" is in fact three artificial lakes created by a dam built across the dramatic 200 m. high Guadalhorce river gorge, known as the Garganta del Chorro. Watch out for the eagles, which continually circle around the sheer cliffs.

As we told you, we have rented many villas in Spain over the years, but without doubt La Cuadra is the nicest one we have ever stayed in. Not only is it a beautiful villa, but the pool, gardens and views are all perfect. And we needn't have brought half the things we did with us, it was all provided! You were incredibly generous with the welcome pack - it was enough to last us the whole week! We really can't find fault with the place, and you were both very kind and helpful. We will often imagine ourselves sitting by the pool looking out over the mountains, as we drag ourselves into work in the rush-hour. We look forward to our next visit!

Just wanted to let you know that I was very pleased with my holiday in Finca La Cuadra. All our needs had been anticipated by Joe and Jan, who were very helpful and friendly. For my first "villa holiday" the whole experience was wonderful. Points worth mentioning - ideal swimming pool, romantic and private location, beautiful modern kitchen fully stocked with crockery, great choice of places to sit outside, rural yet handy for road network. Dear Joe and Jan We would like to say how much you made us feel at home. We love the well equipped Finca La Cuadra in its ideal surrounding and the exceptional welcome pack. Very convenient for visiting places either by car or walk (with a good map you would find many tracks to walk on). One of the memorable days we had with you was when you, going to a unique Spanish restaurant and the journey through to El Chorro reservoir and caminito Gorge. COIN - Situated in the valley of the Rio Grande in the province of Malaga, Coín is one of the most up and coming villages on the Costa del Sol.
This once small village is expanding at an amazing pace and is fast becoming a place of residence for many foreigners.
There are about 20,000 registered residents.

Coin is located about 30 minutes drive from Fuengirola and 20 minutes from Mijas.
Coín also houses and important ceramics factory, located on the main road from Fuengirola and a working film studio that was once the set for the TV series‘El dorado’. The studio is located on the outskirts of Coín, alongside the main highway to Marbella. The studio is also used as a hotel and restaurant

The centre of Coín has a wonderful plaza where the old Town Hall is located and local residents sit and while away the hours.
The new Town Hall is located in another new plaza with an underground car park, fountains, gardens and several fine bars.
The small, narrow streets are lined with family owned shops. A new commercial centre, ‘La Trocha’ has been built on the outskirts of town.
It is located on the road to Cartama and contains numerous department stores including Dunnes, various food outlets including Burger King and a multi-screen cinema.

Coín offers a multitude of housing including very reasonably priced townhouses and apartments, several developments of new apartments in the centre and residential estates on the outskirts of the village.
Prices are lower than the coastal areas and the living is somewhat slower paced.

Coín has a wealth of important architecture including several churches. The Church of san Andres is also known as the Caridad and forms part of the hospital. The Church of San Juan is one of the largest churches in the province and has been officially declared a national monument.
